"If we deliberately keep on sinning after we have received the knowledge of the truth, no sacrifice for sins is left, but only a fearful expectation of judgment and of raging fire that will consume the enemies of God." Hebrews 10:26
"This is the covenant I will make with them after that time, says the Lord. I will put my laws in their hearts, and I will write them on their minds...their sins and lawless acts I will remember no more. And where these have been forgiven, there is no longer any sacrifice for sin." Hebrews 10:16-18
This struck me so sharply, and it made me very excited. It's the explanation of the first reason for his coming, and the reason for his return.
"so Christ was sacrificed once to take away the sins of many people; and he will appear a second time, not to bear sin, but to bring salvation to those who are waiting for him." Hebrews 9:28
Here I am, Lord, waiting. I will keep my lamps trimmed and filled with oil. And concerning the perfection he has bestowed upon me, which belongs to him...
"because by one sacrifice he has made perfect forever those who are being made holy" Heb. 10:14
He is still making me holy. I am not there yet. He will have a holy and perfect bride. But my heart is open and my ears are pricked for the sound of my master's voice. I will wait upon the Lord, and he shall renew my strength.
