What He's about...

God has shown me these verses over the past couple of days, and they seem to have a theme.

But God does not take away life; instead,
he devises ways so that a banished person may not remain estranged from him. 2 Samuel 14:14

"For [your] past troubles will be forgotten and hidden from my eyes." Isaiah 65:16

"As when juice is still found in a cluster of grapes and men say, 'Don't destroy it, there is yet some good in it,' so will I do on behalf of my servants; I will not destroy them all." Isaiah 65:8

"This is the one I esteem: he who is humble and contrite in spirit, and trembles at my word." Isaiah 66:4

And this one is from a while back...

"For I did not come to judge the world, but to save it." John 12:47

What a glorious and wonderful theme I can see! It not one of condemnation, but of restoration, and saving a bit out of what is pretty much bad. He doesn't want the banished and estranged to stay that way! He WANTS reconciliation. He wants it even more than I do.
