We just need some motivation. We need to begin the process of switching over so that it can be gradual instead of drastic. Too bad we can't have a 'pretend' oil shortage, and light the fire. My next vehicle, if at all possible, will be either hybrid or electric.

i can't wait until ultracapacitors become better developed. just because they would allow for that under 5 minutes recharge. most normal electric vehicles just have standard rechargeable batteries which take a good 3 hours to recharge. thats really the only thing that i don't like about full electric vehicles. i'd definitely have to go with a hybrid right now.
i really want aftermarket stuff for the hybrid cars, though. i'd love it if they sold more dense battery packs for extra power or stronger electric motors for a bit more torque. apparently there are a few tweaks you can do on the Toyota Prius to get it's fuel economy well over 100 mpg.
