Tire-less Grace

It's the second time I've ever had tire trouble, and both times have been within a mile radius of my home/and my dad. I was driving back from Tally yesterday, and my car was vibrating pretty badly at certain speeds. I was intending to ask Dad to look at it to make sure it was still safe to drive. I see the my road, and bang...thump thump thump thump thump. My tread separated from one of the tires. It slapped the rest of my car, detaching part of the bumper and denting in part of the fender.

It could have been SO SO much worse but it wasn't at all. God's hand was all over me on the way there. I had put in a CD from wayy a long time ago, and each song was so alive, my heart felt like it was going to burst in surrender. The one song in particular that echoed the chords being strummed upon my heart was Jars of Clay's, "The Valley Song"

You have led me to the sadness
I have carried this pain
On a back bruised, nearly broken
I'm crying out to you

Chorus
I will sing of Your mercy
That leads me through valleys of sorrow
To rivers of joy

When death like a Gypsy
Comes to steal what I love
I will still look to the heavens
I will still seek your face

But I fear you aren't listening
Because there are no words
Just the stillness and the hunger
For a faith that assures

Chorus x2

Alleluia, alleluia
Alleluia, alleluia

While we wait for rescue
With our eyes tightly shut
Face to the ground using our hands
To cover the fatal cut

And though the pain is an ocean
Tossing us around, around, around
You have calmed greater waters
Higher mountains have come down

Chorus

Yeah

Alleluia, alleluia
Alleluia, alleluia
